About The Provider
Jose Jesurajan, MD, is an orthopedic hand surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and elbow. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, FL, and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, CA. He went on to complete the Mary S. Stern Hand Surgery Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH.
Dr. Jesurajan treats a wide range of upper extremity conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, arthritis of the hand, wrist, and elbow, De Quervain's tenosynovitis, ganglion cysts, fractures, Dupuytren's contracture, cubital tunnel syndrome, tendon injuries, and nerve and vascular injuries. His expertise includes both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options, including carpal tunnel release, tendon release, fracture fixation, cubital tunnel release, vascular repair, cyst and mass excision, joint replacement and fusion procedures, nerve repair and transfers, tendon repairs and transfers, and hand, wrist, and elbow arthroscopy.
Dr. Jesurajan believes that exceptional patient care begins with treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis. He emphasizes empathy, active listening, and clear communication, working closely with each patient to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their goals, values, and lifestyle. By educating patients about their options, he helps them make informed decisions and serves as a trusted partner throughout their care journey.
His passion for hand surgery was inspired during a medical mission trip in medical school, where he witnessed firsthand how restoring hand function can preserve a person's independence and ability to care for their family. He was drawn to the specialty's combination of precision, problem-solving, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' daily lives. He especially values building lasting relationships with patients and helping them regain function and quality of life.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Jesurajan has contributed to orthopedic research through published scholarly work. He is a member of the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS), the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
Outside of medicine, Dr. Jesurajan enjoys wildlife and animal conservation, following basketball, and spending time with family and friends.
