He did not seem to be aware of whole body CRPS and suggested i get off my medication that helps curb the pain somewhat , but even . He also suggested that hormone replacement therapy for women causes cancer, when in fact estrogen taken WITH progesterone prevents or lowers the risk for breast cancer . Also I was under thee impression that an endocrinologist handles all of my hormones, not JUST my thyroid. I was extremely confused. I also do not feel He was listening to me as he was too focused on the recording my appointment so frequently talked over me. He though was very soft spoken and kind.

Communication feels difficult with this doctor and when I ask questions it is not clear that he understands what I am asking. At times he has answered a question that is different from the one I have asked. (ex: I asked how much time I should leave between taking a prenatal supplement and getting my labs drawn and he said that I should have my labs drawn with enough time for them to result before our appointment. I clarified, asked again, and he did answer the second time.) Appointments feel very rote and like he is going through a checklist of symptoms rather than listening to what I have to say. I do not feel that I can have a conversation with him about my health. I have requested to see a different doctor at this practice but was told that no other endocrinologists at the practice treat thyroid conditions. There do not appear to be other endocrinologists locally who accept my insurance, so I will continue to see him to manage my thyroid disease unless another provider is available. He seems like a very kind person who means well, but communication with him has felt challenging.

The overall first impression of this clinic is: old, not clean, equipment looks very outdated, the reception area is dingy looking. I did not get a welcoming feeling. I waited for ONE hour in the exam room when I finally went searching for someone to help me. Unacceptable. No one bothered to check on me. Dr. Khan was helpful.

The visit was mostly a non- productive event because blood work was ordered. I had the blood drawn one week before the visit. Then I arrived I learned the blood tests didn't include the information needed for Dr. Khan to prescript treatment. I have to go repeat the blood drawn and learn future treatment plans by phone. I wonder why staff doesn't check to see if blood work includes what the doctor needs to treat the patient. Then the patient would not waste time coming for a visit that could not have been successful, given that the doctor did not have the needed information.

I was a little confused about the time-frame as to when I should get the blood tests and didn't have good information on how to do a 24-hour urine test as I e never had one. Having an MA or a nurse consult after my doctor visit with good instructions would have been extremely helpful. I used the internet for information. I just left the office a little confused.

I arrived a bit early but didn't wait more that 5 minutes. The receptionist was friendly. Dr. Khan was nice and listened to me and all of my questions. Follow up in three months.
