Akpofure P. Ekeh, MD

Akpofure Peter Ekeh, MD, FACS, MPH, MBA, is a graduate of University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Ibadan, Nigeria. He completed his residency in Surgery at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY. He went on to complete a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care and Trauma at the University of Miami in Miami, FL. Dr. Ekeh is board certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Ekeh is a general surgeon dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-first care. He specializes in the surgical treatment of a range of conditions, including hernias, gallbladder disease, benign colonic issues, and various lumps and bumps. He is skilled in a range of surgical procedures, including complex hernia repairs and diverse abdominal surgeries.

Dr. Ekeh is a Professor of Surgery at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Read his publications. He has been awarded with Dayton Magazine's Dayton Best Doctor in 2022. Dr. Ekeh is a member of American College of Surgeons, American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Central Surgical Association, Midwest Surgical Association and West African College of Surgeons.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Ekeh enjoys traveling and playing tennis.
