Aleksey Prok, MD, is a graduate of Saratov State Medical institute in Saratov, Russia. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia, in Richmond, VA. He went on to complete a fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. Dr. Prok is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Prok is a dedicated pain medicine specialist with a special interest in neuromodulation, a field that focuses on using technology to alter nerve activity and alleviate pain. He specializes in treating patients with chronic pain, and his approach is rooted in a comprehensive philosophy of care that is both humane and kind.
He offers a wide range of treatment options, including both interventional procedures and medical management, to help patients find relief and improve their quality of life. I like Dr Prok but he is not very communities and he never remembers me. I appreciate the shot in my back but would like a bit more engagement from the Doctor.

Very hard to get an appointment .. I was running late as my driver made a few wrong turns, I tried calling the office to tell them. When I did arrive (late) the office person had an attitude.. said she was on the phone all day , I probably wouldn't be seen as I was 20 minutes late... but I was seen. The nurse & doctor were professional but the front desk person needed more training!!

Dr Prok presented as knowledgeable, professional, caring and interested in helping me with my lower back pain. After our meeting and discussion I believe he is really going to effect an improvement in my pain level. I am looking forward to that outcome.
