Amber D. Johnson, PT

Amber Johnson, PT is a Physical Therapist located in Englewood and Dayton, OH. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA in 2015.  Amber received her Bachelor of Physical Education (Athletic Training) from Denison University in Granville, OH in 2012.  
Amber specializes in sports physical therapy and treats patients with post-operative knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle surgeries, ligamentous/muscle tears, sprains/strains, and injury prevention. Techniques and treatments may include dry needling, manual therapy, Kinesio taping, blood flow restriction, and injury prevention.
Amber specializes in pelvic health physical therapy and treats patients with urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, and pregnancy and postpartum. Techniques and treatments may include biofeedback, pelvic floor strength/neuromuscular training, internal/external manual therapy techniques, pressure control training, and behavior modification.
Dr. Amber Johnson is a dual credentialed Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist. She decided to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy after realizing her passion for the rehab process and helping athletes get back to full participation in their sport of choice. She is a member of Premier Health's Sports Medicine Outreach Team where she serves as a Physical Therapy liaison, provides assistance, and collaborates with the Athletic Trainers at local area high schools. She obtained a Herman & Wallace Level 1 Pelvic Floor certification in 2022 and a Spinal Manipulative Therapist Certification in December 2023. Amber is also trained in dry needling and blood flow restriction treatments. Her special interests of choice include ACL reconstruction, sport medicine, and women's health but also treats general ortho and post operative orthopedic surgeries.
