David N. Dhanraj, MD

David Dhanraj, MD, FACOG, MBA, CPE, is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Dr. Dhanraj is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and holds a Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) Focused Practice Certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Dhanraj is a Certified Physician Executive awarded by the Certifying Commission in Medical Management. 

Dr. Dhanraj's clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of gynecological and obstetrical conditions. His special interests include Vulvar Disease, Pediatric/Adolescent Gynecology, high-risk and normal pregnancies, and menstrual dysfunction. He provides comprehensive treatment for conditions such as Lichen Sclerosis, Cervical Dysplasia, PCOS/menstrual disorders, abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, and infertility associated with ovulation dysfunction. He sees patients and delivers babies at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. 

Dr. Dhanraj is skilled in a variety of treatments and procedures, including:

• Abdominal, laparoscopic-assisted, and vaginal hysterectomies
• Operative laparoscopy
• Endometrial and fibroid ablation
• Myomectomy (fibroid removal)
• Tubal sterilization
• Cervical dysplasia treatments (colposcopy, LEEP, Cone Biopsy)

Dr. Dhanraj's patient care philosophy is rooted in partnership and education. He prioritizes helping patients gain a holistic understanding of how their body works and the medical conditions they are experiencing, empowering them and their families to advocate for themselves. He is dedicated to finding the safest and least invasive treatment options, reserving surgery for situations where it is absolutely necessary and mutually agreed upon.

His personal journey into medicine was deeply influenced by his mother's health challenges, including a near-death experience caused by septic miscarriage, a high-risk pregnancy, and a subsequent hysterectomy. These experiences fueled his passion for women's health from a young age and led him to a career in OB/GYN. His professional journey, somewhat unexpectedly, led him to over two decades as a medical educator and leader at two large training programs. He now oversees the OB/GYN education at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.  His interactions with learners continually challenge him to be a better physician and educator for both students and patients, and he finds immense fulfillment in shaping the next generation of physicians, both in OB/GYN and all the other fields that intersect in the care of patients.

Dr. Dhanraj currently serves as Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of OB/GYN at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Read his publications.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Dhanraj enjoys trail running, fitness boxing, and international medical mission work in Madagascar. He is also a proud "Band Dad" for Centerville High School.
