Eddie D. Davenport, MD, FACC, FAsMA, is a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Alburquerque, NM. He completed his internal medicine residency at David Grant U.S. Air Force Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, CA. Dr. Davenport went on to complete his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base, TX. Dr. Davenport is a retired Air Force Colonel with extensive experience in cardiology.
Dr. Davenport is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), a fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association (FAsMA), and a member of the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has Aerospace Medicine Flight Surgeon Certification.
Dr. Davenport is currently the Aerospace Cardiology Consultant to the USAF Surgeon General and works regularly with all branches of the military and NASA. He is an appointed Aeromedical Examiner (AME) and designated Federal Air Surgeon Cardiology Consultant to the FAA. He is the current United States delegate and prior chair of the NATO Occupational Cardiology Working Group and was awarded the NATO Science & Technology Organization Award for Best Contribution in 2024. He received numerous military awards during his career in the U.S. Air Force including the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Material Command International Affairs Excellence Officer of the Year in 2016, and many more.
