About The Provider
Ellen Ballerene, MD, is a graduate of Georgetown School of Medicine in Washington, DC. She completed her residency in Psychiatry at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. Dr. Ballerene is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Ballerene specializes in Adult Psychiatry, providing comprehensive care that includes diagnostic interviews, medication evaluation and management, and supportive psychotherapy.
Dr. Ballerene believes that every patient has their own unique story and goals for their care. She strives to meet each individual where they are, utilizing the bio-psycho-social model to optimize and individualize treatment. Dr. Ballerene is dedicated to equipping patients with various tools to cope with mental illness and life stressors, thereby enhancing their control over symptoms and improving their quality of life—not only for themselves but for everyone they encounter.
She recognizes that we live in a complicated world and an individual's mental health is one of the most important tools one can have for navigating this life. Unfortunately it is also one the most complex aspects of health to understand and explain to others. Dr. Ballerene feels that a collaborative team approach to improving one's mental health creates a cascading effect on one's physical health and the lives of everyone around them to make the world a better place for all. Dr. Ballerene finds it both challenging and rewarding to try to help another human being recognize this and make changes to better adapt and function to face life's daily challenges.
Dr. Ballerene is a Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association (OPPA).
