Emily M. Ankrom, PA-C

Emily Ankrom, PA‑C, is a certified physician assistant who provides thoughtful, comprehensive care with a clinical focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and hepatology. She is committed to treating each patient as a whole person and tailoring care to individual needs, experiences, and goals.

Emily’s clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of IBD and liver‑related conditions. She values the complexity and diversity of gastroenterology and appreciates how the specialty challenges her to continuously learn and grow. Emily finds great professional fulfillment in the careful evaluation of complex symptoms and in helping patients achieve meaningful improvements in their health and quality of life. Her approach to care centers on whole‑person, patient‑centered medicine. Emily believes effective care begins with understanding the full picture of a patient’s health and life circumstances, allowing for personalized and evidence‑based treatment plans.

Emily also serves as a physician assistant school preceptor. Her dedication to GI care and learning is further reflected in her professional recognition, including being named a 2025 GUILD Scholar and participating in the 2020 IBD Advanced Practice Provider Preceptorship. She is a member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation (CCFA).

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her children and dog, caring for her houseplants and gardening, painting, and traveling with her husband.
