Heather F. Estes, PT

Heather Estes, PT is a Physical Therapist located in Jamestown, OH. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Gannon University in Erie, PA in 2013. Heather received her Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH in 2010.  
Heather specializes in general outpatient physical therapy and treats patients with gait dysfunction, balance dysfunction, generalized weakness, and amputees. Techniques and treatments may include therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance training, postural training, and ergonomic training.
Heather also specializes in sports physical therapy and treats patients with sprains/strains, fractures, ligamentous/muscle tears, and sacroiliac (SI) joint pain as well as those who are post-operative knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle surgeries. Techniques and treatments may include cupping, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), manual therapy, and injury prevention.
Heather also specializes in running physical therapy and treats patients with sprains/strains, sacroiliac (SI) joint pain, and running evaluations. Techniques and treatments may include biomechanical assessment, shoe recommendations, specialized running training, and manual therapy.
Although Heather is not an Ohio native, she has thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in the community that she now both works and resides in. She has coached the Greeneview High School boys' and girls' swim team for two years, helps out by being the PT on the sidelines of Greeneview's home football games, coaches youth sports, and runs a local farm with her husband and two young children.
Heather enjoys being active and strives to help all of her physical therapy patients accomplish their activity/functional goals as well. Heather finds just as much joy in helping athletes with their fitness goals, as she does with improving functional levels of independence in the aging population. Heather has run four full marathons and countless half marathons and 5k's, so can relate well to the running community, but just as easily relates to post-surgical rehab, as she also has had a handful of knee surgeries, which is what originally peaked her interest in becoming a PT in the first place. 
Heather truly enjoys working with a wide variety of diagnoses and functional levels, taking pride in establishing and working towards goals that are very specific to the individual patient.
