About Jigna N. Thakore
About The Provider
Jigna Thakore, MD is a board‑certified gastroenterologist with more than 15 years of experience providing comprehensive digestive care to adult patients. She is dedicated to helping patients understand their gastrointestinal health while partnering with them to achieve long‑term wellness through both evidence‑based medicine and preventive care.
Dr. Thakore earned her medical degree from the Medical University of Lublin in Poland and completed her internal medicine residency at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, OH, where she went on to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and gastroenterology.
Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), anemia, and the role of the gut microbiome in inflammatory conditions. Dr. Thakore is especially interested in a holistic approach to gastroenterology—integrating lifestyle modifications, nutrition, mental health, and patient empowerment alongside medical and procedural treatments.
Dr. Thakore performs the full range of gastrointestinal procedures, including upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, ERCP, capsule endoscopy, feeding tube placement, stricture dilation, and polyp removal. She values the balance gastroenterology offers between thoughtful diagnosis and hands‑on procedural care, finding particular fulfillment in preventive interventions such as colon cancer screening and polyp removal.
Her philosophy of care centers on treating the whole person, not just the digestive system. She prioritizes prevention, compassion, and forming strong, long‑term partnerships with her patients, believing the best outcomes come from collaboration, education, and trust.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Thakore serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and has been involved in medical education throughout her career. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Ohio Gastroenterology Society. Her commitment to excellence has been recognized with multiple teaching, scholarship, and humanism awards.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Thakore enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and exploring national parks with her husband and two children.
