My experience this visit was affected by my previous visit on 5/20. I received the Medicare print out several months after the visit and found I had been billed $180 for a wellness visit, $51 for staff time, $266 for the doctor visit to review med lab tests, my meds, my v/s, and any complaints, and $27.50 for medical. That was $524.50 for the office visit. When I tried to discuss this with billing and question balance billing because Medicare refused to pay the $27.50, I was told nothing. Several months later my wife tried to discuss the bill again and the person she talked with hung up on her. As a 30+ year staff member and past UVMC board member and president, and a past member of the Premier Board, I thought our treatment was rude and very unsatisfactory. When I discussed this with my doctor at my recent visit he was unable to explain any of this, including the large bill for a routine office visit. Perhaps Medicare could help answer my questions.

It's been a long time since a health care provider actually just asked about me before they wanted to talk medical. How are you what are your hobbies? That in my opinion is how a doctor or any healthcare provider should treat a patient. With good old fashioned care! Jon Silk is the kind of healthcare provider I definitely appreciate and will recommend.
