Manisha Patel, MD, FACS, is a board-certified physician who specializes in cardiothoracic surgery. Dr. Patel has significant experience in cardiothoracic surgery, research, education, and program leadership. She was inspired to pursue a career as a cardiothoracic surgeon after working as a research assistant under preeminent cardiac surgeon Shukri Khuri, MD, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Roxbury, MA.
Her commitment to putting the patient first and treating each individual with compassion and integrity is at the core of Dr. Patel’s care philosophy. This approach has helped her to achieve top ratings from her patients across ratings platforms and to be consistently named as one of Cincinnati Magazine’s Top Doctors, including a 2019 cover feature.
Dr. Patel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Music from Wellesley College and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Vermont – Fletcher Allen Health Care and a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and is Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
An accomplished classical pianist, Dr. Patel is active in local symphony and music organizations and events as a performer and through volunteer leadership roles.

Great doctor and staff! They provided great comprehensive care. It would be nice if their office was closer to the entrance as it is a long walk for someone that just had heart surgery.

Second visit with Dr.Patel. she had just left surgery to come to my appointment. And still found the time to analyze 2 years of CT Scans. Leading her to refute the results of the write up. Something the pulmonologist had missed. 50% growth was extremely over exaggerated. Aside frombher preparation, she spent time with us to fully comprehend my dilemma. She is a rock star, how did I find her in Ohio ?

Dr. Patel was very thorough in her pre-appointment analysis and in explaining the issues to me. She spent considerable time with me answering questions and discussing possible options/outcomes and next steps to monitor the condition.

My experience with Greater Dayton Cardiovascular And Thoracic Surgeons was excellent! As soon as I walked in, the associates acknowledged me with courtesy and friendliness. Dr Patel was thorough and exhibited her expertise with respect towards my concerns. I appreciated the time she spent with me explaining the details of my condition. Dr Patel offered her advice to me with confidence! Moreover, this visit was the best experience I had in a very long time! Thank you!

Dr. Patel and all care givers I have come in contact with these past three weeks have all had my recovery and overall comfort foremost during my pre and post op and preparing me and my wife for what to expect. One thing has stuck in my mind is STOP-THINK before I Act. I could go on and on singing praises but I'll finish with Thank you Lord for guiding all at Atrium.

Was amazing. I was very impressed that she actually studied my history and told me things about me that I had forgotten. Very pleasant and eager to listen to my questions and ease my mind if my condition. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful through the entire processing from initiating the set up appointment till I checked out. Very good experience.
