Micah E. Ancheta, DO

Micah Ancheta, DO, is a graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine / Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. He went on to complete a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care / Acute Care Surgery at the University of Missouri - Columbia in Columbia, MO. Dr. Ancheta is board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Ancheta is a Assistant Professor of Surgery at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He was awarded with Resident of the Year at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, 2022-2023. 

A specialist in Trauma and Emergency General Surgery, Dr. Ancheta is highly skilled in performing a range of surgical procedures including, but not limited to cholecystectomy, appendectomy, splenectomy, bowel resection, and the repair of ventral and inguinal hernias.

Dr. Ancheta recognizes that as a trauma surgeon, he often meets patients on the worst day of their lives. He believes that achieving the best possible outcome, regardless of the circumstances, requires mandatory empathy and excellence—not only in technical surgical skill but also in critical decision-making and clear communication. He is committed to transparency and joint decision-making, ensuring patients and their families are fully informed and involved in every aspect of their care.

Dr. Ancheta chose his specialty because he values the unique niche it provides: combining the expertise of a critical care intensivist who can manage complex medical problems and the interplay between multiple organ systems with the necessary surgical skills to definitively address issues in the operating room.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Ancheta enjoys spending quality time with his family, coaching youth football, and pursuing his interests in golf and cooking (especially BBQ).
