Tristin is absolutely great. She tells it like it is, maybe not you want to hear, but what you need to hear. And she tells you what you need to hear in an easily understandable way - plain English, not medical terminology that most people would not understand. Thanks Tristin!

The Dr (can't remember her name) was absolutely the best. No question was off limits and great thoughts esp w my leukemia going forward. Felt bad walking out the door, cause I'll probably never see her again . She truly is an excellent Dr!!

Overall, the experience was very good. Treatment was started in the ER as soon as the preliminary tests were in. Nursing and support staff were excellent. The only point where I was disappointed and confused was with the person who was coordinating the after discharge plan. She came into the room a day or so before release and inquired whether I had a family person or someone else who would be willing and able to administer the IV antibiotics. I told her I would check. The next day, about an hour before release, she asked if I had someone who could do the IVs, to which I replied that I did not, and had assumed that Home Health would cover it. She stated that "It doesn't work that way." You either have someone who could do it or go to a nursing home. I then made several more calls to family and friends to see if they would be willing to try. Three of them agreed to observe and see if they would be able to handle it. I was released to my home and was assured of at least seven days of treatment there. When my "volunteers" saw what was involved, they all declined the responsibility. Fidelity has since taken it over and have been 100% consistent in their care. My question is why your case worker so strongly implied that there were only two options; nursing home or private nurse. Her statement created considerable angst for both my family and me. I would appreciate your response.
